Legal, Financial & Caregiving Advocacy

 

Topic: PEACE & PROTECTION: LEGAL PLANNING FOR SENIORS

Speaker: Brian Andrew Tully, Esq., Certified Elder Law Attorney

Can I get help for my mom? Will they take my house?  How do I pay for my care? Learn the legal strategies available to answer these questions and gain peace of mind about your future for yourself and your loved ones.

 

Topic: INVESTING IN YOUR GOLDEN YEARS

Speaker:Tom P. Flanagan, RICP, Independent Financial Planner

A discussion of investing, budgeting and insurance to help you get the most out of your golden years for security, income and legacy.

Topic: CAREGIVER ADVOCACY

Speakers: Brian Andrew Tully and Dana Marcinka, LMSW, Elder Care Coordinator

An introduction to advocating for yourself and your loved one including the warning signs of dementia, levels of care and the elder care continuum.

Health, Wellness & the Spirituality of Aging and Caregiving

 

Topic: COMMON MEDICAL CONDITIONS

Speaker: Dr. Elizabeth Sturm, Geriatrician

An overview of the unique health needs of the elderly including chronic diseases, cognitive loss and Alzheimer’s, diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, Parkinson’s and the psychiatric conditions found within the elderly population.

 

Topic:   FALL PREVENTION

Speakers: Nelida and Ronald Zoeller, Fall Prevention Coordinators

Understanding the value of our independence through fall prevention intervention and demonstrations of techniques vital in maintaining balance and preventing falls.

 

Topic: SAFELY AGING AT HOME

Speaker: Frank Gucciardo, MS, PT, CAPS, CGP

We all want to stay in our homes.  Learn about the tools needed to remain at home as safely as possible while minimizing the costs and stress associated with aging and caregiving. 

 

Topic: SPIRITUALITY OF AGING AND CAREGIVING

Speaker: Robert Bambino, MA, Liberty Baptist Seminary

Gain an understanding of the biblical perspective on aging and caring and learn how essential and beneficial it is for a healthy dealing with our own aging process and that of a loved one.

 

Each session will end with a supportive Question & Answer period.
